e-mail: blchurch@hickorytech.net
Christine Schulz is a graduate of Lake Crystal High School. She began playing for church services at age 7 at Garden City Christian Church, and also played organ at the Cat ‘n’ Fiddle Supper Club for several years starting at age 10.
She is currently the organist/pianist at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota, where she has served since September of 1990. She has a Master of Music degree in pipe organ performance from Minnesota State University-Mankato and studied with Dr. Linda Duckett. Christine is secretary of the Sioux Trails Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and has had some hymn arrangements (Variations on “The Ash Grove”) for organ published in 1995 by Morning Star Music Publishers in Missouri. In September of 1996, she made a recording entitled “Phrases of Praise I”, which featured original piano arrangements of hymns combined with music by classical/romantic composers. All proceeds went toward the purchase of the Boston grand piano that is now in the sanctuary at Bethlehem.
Christine also has an Associate of Science secretarial degree in Business Education.
In addition to her work at the church, Christine has been pianist for over 100 musicals in the Theatre Department at Minnesota State University-Mankato. She has toured Europe twice with music groups playing alto saxophone and piano.
In her spare time, Christine likes to play with her three smarter-than-average striped cats, Tigger, Lucky, and Lulu and hang out with her best friend, Joseph (who's a mortician and a fellow music lover!).
